Chaucer is by the Holsteiner stallion, Carpaccio, who has the second highest breeding index in the Holsteiner breed. Chaucer is out of Kantate by Merano.

Chaucer is not only a very fancy mover, he has a jump to die for. He has a fabulous temperament and a great willingness to work. He will suit an lady or junior. Has been shown recognized dressage, schooling jumper shows and recognized horse trials at Beginner Novice. He is also hunting First Flight with Thornton Hill.

He was bred by Lieselotte Wiendieck of Far A Field Acres and purchased from her in April 2009.
