Merle Smith Family story

Grosvenor, Rosemarie and daughter, Nicolette Merle-Smith have been producing, breeding, training and competing horses since 1977. Rosemarie was raised in Boulder, Colorado where she met Grosvenor and they built Coyote Hill Farm. There they ran a small boarding/breeding/show facility and bred Trakehners standing the American Trakehner Association approved stallion, Hansel. Rosemarie showed Hansel on the "A" circuit in the hunters later eventing him which turned her on to another fun discipline. She and Grosvenor also started hunting with the Arapahoe Hunt after a memorable trip to Virginia in 1983. Grosvenor started whipping in to Arapahoe's huntman, George Beeman and later to Dr. Marvin Beeman. Nicolette was born in 1987 and the next year Grosvenor moved his family to Maryland to hunt with the Green Spring Valley Hounds, then on to Virginia to hunt as Kennel Huntsman 1989 - 1993 with the Keswick Hunt Club.

In 1994, Grosvenor accepted a Mastership in Ireland with the Golden Vale Hunt based in Thurles, County Tipperary. The family moved to Bansha for a season where Grosvenor and Rosie hunted with the Golden Vale and the Tipperary Foxhounds. While remaining a Master through 2006 at the Golden Vale, he was asked to return to Virginia to take up the horn as the Amateur Huntsman and Master of the Bull Run Hunt in Culpeper. He developed a crack pack of American/Pennmarydel hounds hunting them for six seasons, 1995-2001.

In xxxx he was asked to judge the Western Challenge, returning in xxxx to judge with Englishman, Adrian Danger.
